My production company, Karmic Courage, is growing and growing.

We are currently sending and exhibiting “Leah Not Leia” in film festivals and conventions nationwide. We are working on a DVD and internet release for this winter.

“Love Dance” is in post production. A rough cut will be ready to view this week.

Next up is a short Horror film for “The Collective V3.” The Collective is a project of 10 short films by 10 filmmakers. Volume 3 is the all female filmmaker edition. I’ll be directing. Production is slated for November, 2011.

Next Summer is slated for the first feature film production from Karmic Courage entitled “Ingenue.” Casting and interviews will begin in the spring.

JUST IN: I’m set to direct and co-produce a web-series with an all female creative team. The project is currently in development and going to be flippin’ genius!

If you dig films by a chicka like my company on facebook and subscibe to our you tube channel. Great stuff to come and we can’t wait to share it with you!

The wonderful ladies at the Tipton Public Library put on in incredible event August 13th for the Karmic Courage Film Retrospective Event. They rolled out the red carpet, made a movie marquee, had fresh popped popcorn and snacks a plenty! It was really a great night!

We showed 7 of the films I’ve produced with Karmic Courage Productions. A mix of drama and comedy, narrative and documentary, live action and stop motion.  The films were: Laundry Day, LOSS, First They Came for, Debra Kemp Interview, Spoon Heist, Screenplay Workshop Episode 2 and Leah Not Leia.

I answered questions and told the stories of how one film lead to another. So wonderful to see family, friends, cast, crew, fans, and new friends at the event.

We raised $20 to go towards the next 3 Karmic Courage Productions. Thank you to all who donated. If you were low on cash we do have a paypal account. All donations go towards Karmic Courage Productions.  Click here to donate to Karmic Courage

The wonderful ladies at the Tipton Public Library and the Tipton Arts Commission have asked me to come and show Karmic Courage films and talk about the process of getting my films made.

When I first entered into this it was just for “Leah Not Leia” a film I wrote and produced, but to my surprise they wanted to show all my films. I’m excited and nervous and I’ve grown a lot since the early work. I also worry that such a night as this will come of egotistical. I keep telling myself that it’s an educational experience to show how filmmaking evolves with challenges and growth.

It’s going to be a great night because my early work, LOSS and Laundry Day are not on the internet, so this is a great opportunity to come see the films that many people haven’t seen.

The ladies putting on the event are doing a fantastic job. There will be movie snacks, popcorn and soda presented on a “red carpet.”

Hope you can make it!

New Poster for Leah Not Leia

New poster for the funny, yet sarcastic short film Leah Not Leia.

What do you think?

The Post Production team is working at a frantic pace to put the finishing touches on the short film Leah Not Leia. We’re all working our fingers to the bone to meet the Comic Con deadline of Feb 15th. There is sound to be mixed, music to be writte, color timing to be done and credit effects to be slapped on.

When it’s done – which is looking like a release this Spring – it’s going to be a kick butt party!

I’ve got a chance to see it and I couldn’t be happier. Everyone did an amazing job! It’s a quirky little film that turned out really funny. Yeah we found the funny!

Star Wars Bake Sale

Save the Date!

May 15th

10am-2pm

1695 Clinton Street, Noblesville, IN

As many of you know, my little production company is working on a new short film about how Star Wars can ruin your life. It’s a fun comic romp of a baby girl born Leah yet through her life everyone keeps comparing her to the Galactic Princess with cinnamon buns on her head.

Saturday, May 15th from 10am-2pm we are hosting an epic bake sale to raise money for production costs of making the film. We are trying to raise $3000 to make the film and another $2000 to get music licencing and get the film into festivals and conventions. No one on the cast or crew is getting paid, we’re doing this to be a huge calling card of what we can do so that we can move on into making feature films.

Any help would be awesome. Bake goods will start at $1. Come see the $1,000 cupcake! If you can’t come to the bake sale but believe in the project and believe I can make it awesome then you can donate to the project online. We have a link to Paypal on our website www.karmiccourage.com. Click on the “Donate” button by Darth Vader asking you to come to the bake sale.

May the frosting be with you!
