Filmmaker, Kate Chaplin was the special guest speaker at the August Indy Stage and Screen networking meeting. Members included stage, commercial and film actors of all backgrounds and experience levels. Kate was invited to answer questions from the other side of the camera and also learn more about the acting side of the film industry.
“It was a fab night of sharing info and frustrations about making films in the mid-west” says Chaplin. “I think that actors are under-rated in the Midwest. I think producers need to seek out professional actors and then pay them for what they are worth. We have too many talented actors moving to the west coast because of the lack of adequate paying jobs here.”
Chaplin is hoping to be able to do her part on her next project, a webseries entitled Mythic Waters. Casting will begin this fall/winter for the first episode.
